“Central Asia – open for mining?”

The first public opinion survey “Central Asia – open for mining?” is organised alongside preparations for the 7th MINEX Central Asia Mining and Exploration Forum to be held in Astana, Kazakhstan on 19 – 21 April 2016.

The purpose of the survey is to present an independent snapshot of the public perception of current conditions for doing business and developing mining projects in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Mongolia.

The survey organisers invite to share their views senior executives, managers, experts, consultants, government officials, scientists and investors whose professional interests are related to the mining industry in Central Asia.

The survey covers various aspects of activities related to the modern mining from operational costs to regulatory environment.

The survey will be held annually in order to project shifts in collective assessment of business environment in mining sector in the Central Asian States. The survey is expected to become an independent indicator for further business climate improvement.

Target audience: representatives of business, financial, regulatory and academic communities involved in mining operation, development, regulation and research in Central Asia.

Timing: replies from survey participants will be accepted until 15 April 2016.

Confidentiality: The organisers guarantee that all personal information collected during the survey will not be published or used for advertising or other purposes not related to the survey.

gold-tengePrize: All survey participants will be entered in the prize draw – Kazakhstan’s Gold Coin.

Survey data evaluation methods:

– Initial data collection via online form using evaluation points ranging from 1 to 5.
– Data validation and error elimination
– Preparation of results based on arithmetic averages
– Interactive survey will be conducted during the Forum
– Correlation of the differences between on-line and live survey will be presented at the conclusion of the Forum and its website – www.minexasia.com/2016

Results announcement: The results of the survey and the Prize winner will be announced on 21 April  during the final session of the forum MINEX Central Asia and published on the site www.minexasia.com/2016
